Not quite official...

Well, I keep weighing myself waiting to get to the 50 pound loss mark but I seem to be stuck at 190-192 which is only 46-48 pounds lighter than I was in December. I keep looking at my photo from November with my cats... I need to update that. I'm a bit skinnier now. Yay! I am almost into my skinny skinny slacks. Can't wait! They're so cute! Until then, I still have plenty of bruises from spelunking and a crazy diet to keep to. Oh, and I got promoted to basically an assistant manager at Lane Bryant. :)

Beaten and Bruised

So, I recently took up the sport of caving (Spelunking.) I know I'm claustrophobic and my heart rate sky rockets and I start sweating a lot when I go caving but I want to get over this somewhat rational fear. It's not running out of oxygen that scares me, it's being stuck in a hole for an extended period of time without being able to move my legs around or get help. Although I've had a great time overcoming my fears (I really have had fun caving), my little brother, Benji, informed me that my legs make me look like a dalmatian because of all the dark bruises. No one else seems to have been so dramatically affected, so I went to the vampires and am expecting my blood results soon. Whatever is going on, I'm always tired and that's a new development.

My new favorite romantic comedy is "Ghost Town," if you haven't seen it I highly recommend it. I also realized that I'm a sucker for kids movies, you know what they say, "Getting older is mandatory, growing up is optional." Work is going well, I got offered a raise and promotion but it'll be three weeks before it takes affect. My new favorite song is by the All American Rejects entitled "Gives You Hell" I admit the language isn't the cleanest, but for some reason I relate.

Max has learned how to open doors which has become problematic because he's left the front door open a few times. Not only that but if he wants attention he'll sneak into which ever room he wants. Plus, he learned from Bella that if you meow enough, you'll get what you want. I'm trying to break them both of that habit now with the handy-dandy spray bottle. Max is training us rather well when he wants to go out, now we're continuing to train him that he can't go out after dark because of the coyotes. Although, he does blend in well and looks as sleek as a wild lion. Bella on the other hand has become miss lovey-dovey which is quite a change from the scardy cat she was a year ago. She falls asleep at my feet or against my back all the time. She doesn't necessarily want attention so much as to be close to someone.

Oh, I almost forgot, I've made it half way to my ideal weight. I've lost 37-38 pounds and only have another 25-30 to go. It's taken almost five months with no wheat or sugar. I've cheated a few times, but on the whole have kept it pretty strict. Now that I'm losing weight I am getting a lot more energy (or was until this whole blood problem appeared, Von Willebrands? Anemia? whatever?) So, more recently but not super recently I've been working out a bit. I've really been enjoying the weather. Here's to wishing for a cool Texas summer. :) Ever the optimist never the realist. :)

Hum-Drum

Well, I created this blog to keep everyone up to date on what's going on in my life except that it's the same old same old every day. I did get to be Delilah's Escort through the temple on the 14th of Jan. and that was quite an honor. I finally cracked down and did laundry today, I made a new record for myself, 2 months and I only had to do one load of whites half way through. Although that's not something I should post or brag about. Even if it does take talent. :) I also helped Delilah find a new vehicle. She'll be picking it up tomorrow. Yay! And thank you Steven Morris for helping out on Saturday, you're a gem. Max-the tabby- is officially 12 pounds and growing. Bella has a fascination with climbing the fig tree, walking on the roof over to my window sill and then she'll sit there meowing till I let her in. I guess she found out how the kids used to sneak out at night. ;) I am fairly sure I want to change my major to literature instead of Engineering and since I have a math minor, I would like to teach math in middle school. That way I get my summers off. :) I started a second book without finishing my first, so that's coming along nicely and I am addicted to grapefruit.
The next question on everyone's mind is 'are you dating anyone?' Short answer: No Long answer: No I am not. That's plenty fine with me, it reduces the stress in my life. So yeah. Till Next time!

Welcome to Rachel’s Blog…

Rachel got a little bored on Sunday and she decided that it might be a good idea to start a blog to keep everyone updated on what she’s been up to. Rachel is currently writing a book. There’s no official title to it yet, in fact she’s close to half way through her second version and the second version is quite different from the first. Hopefully one day she’ll be famous and will look back on these days, smile and say “Wow, I’ve come so far!” For those of you who don’t know Rachel very well, she’s 24, single and owns two cats, Max (aka Maximus Destructivus & Monkey) and Bella (aka Bella). She majored in Mechanical Engineering at BYU in Provo but hasn’t quite finished yet. She’s currently looking for a day job not to quit while she writes her book. Rachel is currently living in San Antonio Texas and volunteers as a secretary for the Relief Society of her Single’s Ward. That’s all for now folks! Stay tuned for more updates to come.
